Urgent Alert – War update from Freight Management Ltd. Bangladesh

March 3, 2026

Following coordinated military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran, the regional security situation has deteriorated significantly. In response, Iran has closed its entire airspace to civilian flights until further notice, while Israel has also suspended civilian air traffic. Several other Middle Eastern countries—including Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and Bahrain—have temporarily restricted or suspended their airspace. As a result, many international airlines have cancelled or suspended flights to and from the region, including routes that normally overfly Iran and nearby Gulf states.
Due to this situation, most major Middle Eastern airlines have suspended their operations from Bangladesh. Saudi Airlines is currently operating a limited number of flights from Dhaka to Jeddah and Riyadh by rerouting over Yemen. However, we were informed this morning that these extended routings have resulted in a sharp increase in freight rates. We have already received information of increase of 130-150% approx. For USA around 90-110 % increase and this is not a fixed level, as the situation is still underway and market situation will evolve according to the war situation and flight options.
Some of the flights from BD to middle east are operating but these are mostly passengers only, as Biman airlines in mostly focusing on carrying stranded passenger from Dhaka.
We are still waiting for the confirmation from individual airlines to move only after they get approval from their HQ, so until then we are observing the situation and can only plan next shipments after airline confirmation. We are actively exploring alternative airline options operating via Far East routings. At present, most carriers are on standby and awaiting further instructions from their headquarters. Based on uniform feedback received from multiple airlines.
Regarding the SEA+AIR movements, Dubai is directly impacted country and all the other air space are also impacted. All airport & Sea port operation is off until today 02 MAR and tomorrow we will get an update tomorrow. We will keep you posted.
